Nature and nurture walks – Ravenscraig Park

Join us for a walk through Ravenscraig Park, enjoying the natural beauty as the seasons change. The gentle walk will take in the beautiful park and the coast around Ravenscraig/Dysart. At the end of the walk there will be optional time for chat and coffee at the Harbourmaster’s Cafe in Dysart.
We’ll pass near the Ravenscraig Walled Garden so Greener Kirkcaldy garden volunteers are welcome to join us on the way to their volunteering session.
These are drop-in walks so there is no need to book, just come along and meet us! These walks are led by volunteer walk leader Tina.

Meet Tina
Tina grew up on the west coast of Scotland, studied at various universities across the UK and had an early career as a Biochemical engineer. She left it all to live on the Isle of Mull and had an idyllic life there as an organic gardener among other things then eventually came back to the mainland to retrain. She graduated in Fine art in 2018 and developed an ecological contemporary art practice.
The regular walks in the park have a light focus on healing from trauma and anxiety. They will be a little bit more mindful and attentive than the usual noisy, chatty conversational walks. They aim to be nurturing.
“Walking is a significant component of my contemporary art practice which aims to deepen our connection with the natural world. I have proposed these walks because I feel it is importantly for us to develop a growing relationship with a place and get to know it in all its moods and seasons.”
Accessibility Information
The route is unsuitable for wheelchairs / pushchairs due to the terrain. There is accessible parking at Ravenscraig Park and public toilets available in the park.
