Scottish Land Fund Grant Announcement

We’re delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the Scottish Land Fund to help us take forward our plans for our Community Food Hub project.
The grant will be used to purchase a building near Kirkcaldy town centre and pay for associated purchase fees. Once in community ownership, we will develop the premises and use it to house the town centre location of our Community Food Hub, which will centre on a fully equipped training kitchen. The Food Hub will offer a range of training, employment, work experience and volunteering and lifelong learning opportunities around food production and preparation.
The Scottish Land Fund supports rural and urban communities to become more resilient and sustainable through the ownership and management of land and land assets. Funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership by the Big Lottery Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, it offers grants and support to help communities take ownership of the land and buildings that matter to them.
The fund was relaunched in March 2016 and expanded to apply to both urban and rural projects. We were awarded the grant alongside Grimsay Community Association in Scotvein, North Uist.
