You Decide Kirkcaldy – Help our new community food project receive a share of funding from Fife Council

Cast your votes to help your community! Between 17-31 March local people have the power to decide which projects will receive a share of £300,000 funding from Fife Council.
Greener Kirkcaldy’s new Cooking with Confidence project, designed to support local families with neurodiversity, is one of nearly 80 shortlisted projects. The full list is an inspiring range of great ideas from groups across Kirkcaldy district.
Our project – Cooking with Confidence
We believe everyone should be able to enjoy good food with their family.
Greener Kirkcaldy has been running cooking and budgeting classes for several years. Some of the groups we have taught in the past have included neurodivergent people. Although they enjoyed our classes, we have learned that we could make sessions more inclusive for them.
If we receive funding, we will bring 30 neurodiverse families together to gain skills, increase their confidence and socialise. Our workshops will allow people to:
• learn cooking and budgeting skills
• enjoy healthy and nutritious meals
• gain qualifications and employment.
The people we work with will gain access to good food and better health and wellbeing. They will have opportunities to make new friends, have fun and increase their confidence.
How to vote
The You Decide Kirkcaldy vote opens today and runs until Sunday 30 March. You can vote for up to 20 projects (five in each category) to help them receive a share of the funding. Our project is called Cooking with Confidence, you can find it in Category 1. Community and Social Projects.
Everybody who lives, works, volunteers or studies in the Kirkcaldy area (including Kirkcaldy, Burntisland, Kinghorn and Auchtertool) can vote.
